The materials we use are, in a very real sense, gifts from God:
pigment drawn from the earth, fibers from plants and animals, paper from trees, color born of light. When we use what has been given in nature to make beauty, we participate—humbly and imperfectly—in co-creation.

Use what you already have first.

Creativity does not begin with better tools—it begins with attention, presence, and willingness. Many of the psychological and spiritual benefits of creative work come from engagement, not from expensive materials.

That said, people regularly ask what I use and recommend. This page exists simply to answer that question.
